Out of School Club

Brewster Avenue Out of School Club is based in Brewster Avenue Family Centre. The club is open from 7.45am until 6.00pm weekdays, during term time and children from Reception to Year 6 at Brewster Avenue Infant School and St Augustine's Junior School are welcome to attend.

We aim to provide a safe and secure and relaxed environment, offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care.

Our Club follows the Playwork Principles, so the children are free to choose activities and resources as they wish. There will always be a selection of activities and resources available, including craft, board games, construction, physical play and reading. In addition, other resources are available for the children to select from our equipment library.

We provide breakfast each morning and a healthy snacks after school, including fresh fruit and vegetables. This is not intended as a substitute for a main evening meal. We promote independence, by encouraging the children to prepare their own snacks, and to clear away after themselves. We use fresh ingredients and follow statutory guidelines. Fresh drinking water is available at all times. We meet individual dietary requirements. We recognise the importance of healthy nutrition for children delivered in a calm, friendly setting. We allow children to decide when they are ready to eat, but request that food be consumed whilst sitting at the snack table.

Fees are charged at:

  • £3.00 for Breakfast Club
  • £8.00 for After School Club

We have had to make changes to our booking systems for breakfast and after school club as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and the government’s current safety guidelines.

We are running two small and consistent groups or ‘bubbles’, one for children attending Brewster Avenue and one for children attending St Augustine’s. They are both be based in the family centre, with St A’s pupils using the family room and Brewster Avenue children using the activity room.

Places are allocated based on the number of sessions a week required, with families requiring the most sessions given the highest priority.
